worst day of my life.
Sunday Bonnie hurt herself and we brought her into the vet where she was xrayed and given steroids. She was 100% by Wednesday, we were relieved. Saturday morning we woke up and she was paralyzed. The (expensive) surgery gave her a 50% chance to walk again with eight weeks of a painful recovery w/no guarantees that this wouldn't happen again.
We made the very difficult decision to put her to sleep.
She was our best friend. We loved her so much and there is now just a huge void in our lives. I know things are going to get better but this just really hit us hard.
I love her.
Krista, I'm so sorry to hear about Bonnie...I don't think there are any words I can say that can help, but know I'm thinking of you and Matt. BonBon was such a beautiful sweet girl and I know you guys will miss her so much.

Krista I am so sorry to hear about this. The happiest day is the day we bring our pups home, the saddest day is when we come home with an empty collar and leash.
Hugs, hugs, hugs!!!!

Krista (and Matt) I am sincerely sorry for your loss. I never "met" bon-bon but I knew her through her various exploits on this blog and I sure know she was a very important part of your family. I also know that she was loved every single day of her life and that you did the most difficult thing a loving owner can ever do for their best friend. Thinking of you- Lx

Ohhh, Krista, I am soooo sorry. I know what its like, the exact same thing happened to Quincy. Dogs with long backs tend to get suddenly paralyzed. I think you guys made the right decision, there are no guarantees. She was a cute dog, she really fit in with Demi as time went on.
I know how empty the house seems right now. It will get better, trust me. My heart goes out to you and Matt.

Krista,
De-lurking to offer my sympathies on your loss.
Having to make that decision is one of the single greatest acts of love for a beloved pet.
I'm so sorry you had to make it for Bonnie.
Take good care of yourself.
Peace,
kath
