Two drinks and i feel like toast

There is a lot to Love about Lowell but sometimes man....arrrrrrrrrgh.

Erin and I have been awesomely dedicated to our Thursday bitchfest girl time. So we headed over to our usual watering hole which is a cute little martini bar. There is usually an older crowd there since the martinis go for 10+ a pop. We get in and there is this group of early 20's men boys. One of them had a t-shirt that had a stop sign in the back with the word "snitchin" w/a line through it. Seriously. So after sitting through 15 minutes if their inane conversation we had to go. There is only so many times you can hear the phrase "YEAH DUDE".

So we crossed the street to another bar where we were pleasantly surprised by a tab the was five dollars cheaper than the last!

Quotes of the night

Well WHATEVER! At least you never had to be weighed on a meat scale! - E
(because every time we have a few we end up talking about VK* and how shitty he was)

Oh wow! This one has bacon in it! -K
(me being "funny" at the organic vegetarian restaurant. Karla and Erin were like WHAT?)

*New readers. VK is my ex husband that once weighed 400 pounds but then after he lost the weight thought he was the bees knees and would make awesome comments about my extra 20lbs.

Interview from Janet

Interview from Janet

1. What is the most important thing you want your future children to understand?

Empathy.
I will do everything in my power to never raise a self entitled snot.
Stuff does not equal happiness.
Healthy eating and fitness.

2. What makes your friends your friends?

I'm attracted to people that are easy going and fun. I've maintained most of my friendships with people that understand I like my space but if they need me I'm there and if I need them they are too. And....especially people that understand the phone is my ENEMY!

3. Recently in an email I forwarded you, the #8 question was: Who would you chuck it all and run away with if he showed up at your door? Your answer was Christina Aquilera. My question is: What would you tell Matt? Would you call him or leave him a note? What would the note say?

Hypothetically, I'd leave him a note and tell him Christina would buy him his black convertible Mustang as a consolation. Reality, I wouldn't leave Matt for anyone.

4. Which drawing of yours is your favorite? Can you show us?

I don't think a have a favorite. I don't like the way I draw. I lack skill, it is frustrating.

5. You love scary movies. If YOU were making a scary movie, what would it be about? Who would star in it?

Oh! It would TOTALLY be something spooky like the exorcist. I think Selma Blair could do a totally creeped out job. It would have lots of BOO!'s and RAH!'s and OMG!'s. And some Amityville horror creepy undertones.

If you want to be interviewed by me, please leave me a comment or send an email saying: "Interview me." (or the like).

* I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
* You will update your weblog with the answers to the questions.
* You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
* Then others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions and so on.

Its all about me, again

You know when you find "the one" of something you completely become obsessed with said one?

Well. I found my cake. Feast your eyes on THIS.

I. Love. It. I few changes to make it look more fall and it is mine. Oh it will be.

My wedding gown JUST fits and the cute strapless number for Matt's sisters wedding (July) does not. Two inches stands between me and hot little dress.

That two inches is now my personal enemy! *insert imperial death march*

One! Singular Sensation

Saturday we drove into the city with a slight detour into the bronx (aka making a wrong turn and getting losssssssst). So as Karla and I navigated threw the winding streets of rt 9 I spied two strapping men tending to their motorcycles "they look like nice boys, lets ask them" I say and pull over(aka KARLA YOU ASK THEM). They got us on the right track and we got into the city effortlessly (aka our street was blocked off so 20 left/rights we ended up at a parking garage 3 blocks away).

Whew. We checked in, our room was sassy, the hotel was ODD but clean (kinda like...ME!). We cleaned up, got sassy and since we were STARVING we went early to dinner. Dinner was fabulous and I topped it off with something called "bongo bongo" two vanilla ice cream stuffed pastries topped off with chocolate sauce (I thought this was acceptable since I had grouper and pancietta (SP) (wtf is the difference between that and spinach?).

Then we made our way to the theater. The musical was awesome, closer to the movie then I had imagined. The characters were cast spot on. Before we knew it they were taking their final bow and we walked a block back to our room and the two old ladies were passed out by midnight.

The End

SANJAYAYAYALAMA DING DONG FINALLY GO's HOME.

So yeah, had fun with the goofy lil'ones. They even got Matt to dance, ha check out the pictures.

Blog it FW

BLOG IT FORWARD (as snagged from Michelle)

Don't know the rules? No problem. This is easy. All you have to do is either on your own blog or in the comments here say something nice about someone. It could be someone in your every day life, someone from your family, someone you know online or a complete stranger. I don't care who you pick - oh hell - pick MANY someones if you want. Just say something nice about somebody.

My Blog it Forward picks:

My parents - They really came thru this year. My father is very sick (stroke in 2001 and now booboo kidneys) he still has made time and found the energy to work on my house and teach Matt his craft.

Matthew - Welp. I can go on and on and fill the internets. Hes so sweet, warm, loving, PATIENT, and adorable. He lights me up inside myself. He lets me be loud, I can be my self. He's good in bed too.

Erin and Amy for making the time for me so I have someone I can freak the eff out to. Because Matt would have surely ran for the hills if he had to listen to any more of my panicked wedding hyjinks.

Now you go.

Because its all about me

Le shananananagans.

So!

I may get back the THOUSAND DOLLAR deposit from the other place.

I don't have to do flowers or decorations

My DJ coincidentally is located around the CORNER from the new reception.

Oh how the stars have aligned for moi.

BUT the 3k dream dress dress via ebay for cheapah still does not **fit....*stay tuned

* I finally worked my way up to the full hour of get ripped. I think my arms are going to rip right the eff off.

**stupid inherited wide rib cage (sure yeah thats it)

empty wallet

ummmm can anyone tell me what a "Boston Area" wedding cake is going for (pp) I want to make sure I'm not getting hosed.

haha im so craaazaaay

haha. hahah. changing my wedding venue six months before wedding, hahahah.

Welp. I asked the two major hotels last year if they had a two night min. They both said no. Well, as I started to make a website for out of towner's, I saw that the min night was now two and most rooms were $180! So basically out of towner's would be expected to pay close to $500 bucks for my shabby cocktail reception. I couldn't even pre-pay for parking which was three blocks away and $5-$10) So then I checked out the Peabody Marriott and they were almost BOOKED in SEPTEMBER. The woman I talked to was a wicked snot too "ha, well it IS peak season" so I'm like September 15th is peak season for what exactly? Foliage she says. I wanted to say "but you're effin PEABODY you tw*t??!"

and ummmmm wha? how bout Oct for foliage honey.

So, after I calmed I went on a feverish search for a place. I was on google overdrive! And I found it. A funky little museum in the heart of Lowell, where you can get a room for one night at a whopping $120. Wha-Who.

Meanwhile Matts shaking his "i told you so" head

And even if I loose my deposit? I'm still coming out ahead not having to pay premium prices for drinks and gourmet snacketizer's. AND since there is art everywhere, I don't need no stinkin flowers.

So! Everyones was like umm hows that wedding planning coming. and there it are folks!

Now, I need a 1st dance, I'm thinking "at last"

hmmm what did you have?

I could fall asleep standing

It fascinates me that I sleep a full eight hours and I this tired. Maybe it was the full weekend?

Had two couples over for dinner. It kinda bums me out that I can only fit six at my dining table, I'd invite the city of Lowell! We managed to clear a casserole dish of lasagna, some Portuguese deserts, two bottles of wine (thats it? you say, I was the only one drinking it), made chocolate martinis for the girls, So soooo good!

Saturday morning I had to go to WORK. I drag my ass out of bed, trek my sorry tired hungover ass into the building and realize I don't have my key to get in. I waited for my boss who was supposed to be there at 8:30 (its now 9:30) and nothing! ARGH! Drove back home, got the key, back to the office, work for four hours, get home, go to burtuccies, try and take a nap, Matt comes in "ohhhhh someones trying to take a naaaaaap", get sexually assaulted, no nap. Get up, sudoko, go to moms, decorate easter eggs with nieces, go home, pass out.

Get up, clean, bake ham, go to the market, get corn, go to moms, easter dinner, 80s trivial pursuit, drink another bottle of wine, go home, suduko, bed.

yawn

Random is ....

E and I are dedicated to going out once a week to:

1. Support downtown Lowell and
2. To support each others mental health

Last night we went to our favorite restaurant bar but the was packed, I'm talking wall to wall people at 6:30! So we had to get all romantic and eat where the white table cloths lay. We figured by the time we were done dinner the party at the bar would have thinned, nope. Fortunately there are about six bars in a 1/8 mile radius so we went to the martini bar which was DEAD.

Then, about an hour into heavy conversation about sex, diets, and fitness goals we notice a shift. Then I see every table is taken and there is a band being set up. Erin perks up "whats going on?"

waitress: Oh its Cambodian night for some world thing?
Erin: OH! Thats right. Its Destination World Night!

I'm clearly still confused. Then the Cambodian Rock sensation group Bad Boys gets introduced.

"This song is dedicated to all of you!"

I'm anticipating Cambodian rock, which I'm excited for.

Time can never mend the careless whispers of a good friend
To the heart and mind, ignorance is kind

umm. Thats not Cambodian, thats Wham!

hahaha. So, freekin random but awesome.

Look what I had done! I wanted Live, Laugh, Love but in Gaelic; Beatha, gaire, grĂ¡ ("Life, laughter, love") . I asked Nicol at Wicked Sticky if she could do it and she said no problem! No mess, no commitment, no painting, just stick it up on your wall! My OCD fiance was very pleased with that. And it's so affordable!

Ummm and yes those curtains are from pottery barn kids.

Nothing of anything

My pants are wicked tight and seem to get increasingly tighter as the day proceeds onward.

hark! tights pants
you make me sad in myself
you were normal this AM!
oh tight, pants

And I really REALLY need to see this

Work is passing the time till I get to go home and watch The Peoples Court. Judge Millian is my hero.

This little boy will NEVER ever be the same.

I lack depth. Contentment does that I s'pose.

insert whitty title here

Holy macaronis. Who sends mark-ups via USPS overnight Thursday and writes "i need these for 1st thing Monday, but I prefer Friday". An architect, thats who. Thanks for the heads up.

On to more important things. The Christina Aguilera concert. I got there pain free via the Train into Boston. Well, it wasn't really pain free. It was full of carbon copy wretched teenagers. The mean type. The "I'm prettier and have more money than you so i can shit all over you to make me feel better" type. There was this girl with her headphones on singing to Christina, singing her little not so good of a voice heart out. And they were so mean to her. My death stare did nothing to thwart these girls harsh words and gestures. It made me a little sad in myself.

So on to better things. Matt met me at the station and we went to the Harp for dinner. It went faster than expected so we headed to the FC early. PCD just got on stage and we (I) decided I'd rather drink out in the lobby.

*loosen up mah buttons baby* echos

Matt: ummm maybe we should go check it out. you know, just to see whats up.
LooLoo: oh, yeah you want to see what up alright

So we went. It was pretty entertaining, I'll give it that and the lead singer can actually sing.

Christina came on shortly after in her usual over the top, over singing awesomeness. She re-organized What a Girl Wants and Come Over which I really REALLY liked. I cried like a twelve year old circa 1992 seeing NKOTB. I cried three. separate. times. I'm so lame. She mostly did her new CD, most of it blew me away. I left pre encore because crowds make me nervous and Ive seen her sing beautiful live before so i grabbed Matt and we scooted.

and yeah, scooted. FYI in man talk "3 blocks = 1 mile"

Just like in woman talk "a few pairs of shoes = 30 pairs"
